Hello ES1 Early Adopters,
We are ever so grateful for business, and the faith you have placed in us by purchasing our brand new espresso machine. We are very proud of what we have designed and built with the ES1, and we are so excited for it to be in your home.
As a reminder, our team is here to support you any way we can, answering questions and helping you get comfortable with your new machine.
That said, we wanted to let you know that in the past week we uncovered 2 errors within the ES1 software. These are not major issues, but rather glitches that you might encounter under certain conditions.
-
Issue 1. Tea / Hot Water bug:
- Sometimes the tea dispense function will not stop automatically when it should.
-
This only occurs when:
- The user presses the tea button to start a dispense while on a screen other than the home screen.
- The user then presses home button and/or back buttons on-screen and navigates back to the home screen while the hot water is still being dispensed from the tea tap.
-
What to do if the bug occurs:
- If the tea tap doesn’t automatically stop running when it’s expected to, simply press the tea tap button again and it will stop.
-
How to avoid bug:
- While the tea tap is running, don’t press the screen to navigate UI.
- Wait until tea tap dispense is finished before pressing anything else on-screen.
-
Issue 2 / Shot History bug
- The Shot History screen will not appear if any shots have been brewed during the month of September.
- This is due to a glitch within the machine’s code.
- Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent or avoid this bug. There simply won’t be any shot history during the month of September until the new software update is installed.
A software update is in development to remedy these problems, and should be available in the next 2 weeks. We will send detailed instructions for how to update your ES1 software using a thumb drive.
This is part of what makes us excited about the ES1 now and in the future; any issues or concerns we find are fixed with simple software updates. We’ll do our best to keep you informed of updates as they release.
Long term, we have many ideas for features and capabilities we hope to bring to your ES1, which will also be made available through these software updates.
Again, thank you so much for being a part of our ES1 user community. We’re so glad you are here.
All the best,
Ryan Willbur
